Sulaiman-New Friend from Pakistan

Hi All, I was on my way to office this morning. I used to travel either by Taxi or by Train or by Bus or by Trams based on my comforts for the day. Well, today I chose to travel by Train.I saw a man coming behind looked like an Indian. I did see him and did not interact as many of the Indians abroad does not talk to other Indians or even if I make an attempt to talk, they would show some reservation. This, I have heard from many others and so I have stopped talking to other Indians abroad unless it is necessary for me to interact. But, this man coming behind came with a good smile, gave a hand shake and introduced himself as Sulaiman from Pakistan. A nice personality who resembled one of my favourite Cricketers Wasim Akram. We had a nice time and exchanged lots of cultural informations and corporate world. The gentle approach and topics we have spoken to each other were quite good. We could talk and evaluate political systems of both the countries. He left a nice impression and made my day good to cherish good memories.
At the hour of writing this mail, I just developed few concerns and felt like sharing with you. Are we leading a normal life ? Are we reciprocal to social humanbeings ? Are we doing justice to our jobs and responsibilities ? Are we maintaining good friendships ? Are we transparent and no hide and seek mind ? Are we feeling good about improvements happenings to our known contacts ? Are we making any efforts to keep some friends always in touch ? Are we helping to the requirements of friends or relatives sincerely ? Are we really feeling good about ourselves ? so on.................Well, atleast to me, at this checkpoint, I felt happy that I do not have any "NO" for the questions which I have raised. When I was talking to a girl a month ago, to stay happy and be comfortable in life. She said, she is not interested to listen to me, because I talk and say only to be happy in life. She also questioned me that advising skills will promote internal happiness, so
I start advising people to stay happy. I may or may not have any concerns about real happiness to the other person.I sensitively observed and could honestly declared that I sincerely wish happiness to all. I won't do it for my self promotion. Oflate, she developed confidence in me and happy with my contact now. I used to call any person I meet or interact as " Happy Man", but the same title has bounced back on me and some people calls me " Happy Man" today. Yes, I am a " Happy Man" and I want everyone to feel the same that each one is special and Happy in life.I do not know, how it can be achieved, but certainly it is possible to achieve is my feeling. The simple way is to forget the bitterness of past and stay happy today and focus happiness for tomorrow. Most importantly, spread happiness to others. It multiplies for you. Share your wealth with others, it multiplies for you. Lastly, I repeat again, something great should happen out of Pragathi. It was started with greater ideas and values. It is the time to do some squirrel efforts to one and all through Pragathi. Let the main objective of Pragathi be spreading happiness to all. AGM of Pragathi is in the near future and I wish some good souls come and take forward "Pragathi" to newer heights. I also wish K G Sreenivasa Murthy to have a well balanced and Happy life.He is a great man who could do small wonders in life.He is a man of actions and humble personality. I personally feel that it is time for him to nurture his true personality and start distancing from tight assignments which he is shouldering all along and focus his attention towards his creativity and happiness in life. Good Luck-KGS.
Thanks for my selection for past 3 years to serve Pragathi as its Chief Co-ordinator-Social Service & Corporate Communications. I could not do anything big,not even small is my feeling. But,I have a sincere wish to come true- Let,Pragathi Syndicate be a shelter of Happiness for all. I also have a simple expecation from whoever has read this mail to send a reply mail,so that it conforms to me, how many are reading "Pragathi" mails. Best Regards, C N RameshOut Going- Chief Co-ordinator-Social Service & Corporate Communications.Pragathi Syndicate.

My last week at Poland

Hi All,
Today, I had been to a place called ZAKHOPANE, wonderful mountain range which is beyond 9000 feet high and needs electrical chair cars and in two level to reach the top. I had been to this peak point today and had a great experience of life time. I just remembered my high school geography teachers- B K Janakamma & H K Rukkamma. I had literally seen evergreen forest and plateau region together. I am done with Krakow and will be here upto next weekend. I am travelling back to India on 17th and landing on 18th.As per tentative plans, I may likely be visiting Scotland & London by last week of September and till this time,I would be spending my time at Chennai and brief visits to Bangalore. While I was talking to my uncle C L Ramakumar during last week, he just reminded me of a statement that appears in history which states that visiting Holland-Poland-England is a lucky opportunity to cover maximum historical places. I think, I am lucky to make it. My head office is at Hague,Netharlands and would make it to Holland sometime. However, I had been to Amsterdam of Netharlands. Last punch : Gokulaastamigoo Imaam Saabigoo Yen sambandhaa anno Preshne ? Yes. whether I am at India or abroad, I always get old memories often and cherish some of the good times, good people and so on. I am a patriotic Indian but felt sad to see the attitude of many Indians abroad which makes us ashamed for India globally. Anyway, I am not planning to write anything more on this. But, Many Indians outside India is clearly something ....probably within India too, no escape. I listened to many Kannada Songs on MP3 throughout the day. I watched three movies which were coincidentally available in one DVD and from each of the movie I could synchronise where we stand culturally and could make a breif analysis on influence of westernisation culture in India of recent times Vs original cultural heritage and ethics of Traditional and Great India. You may watch this DVD or movies I am referring to, if you get to watch. The movies being- "Ganda-Hendathi- and a boy friend", " Jollydays" and Gaalipata. Thanks for your time and special thanks to those who could read and respond to some of my mails. Best Regards, C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Vienna-The Great

Hi All, I arrived on beautiful Vienna last evening. Upon my arrival, I was picked up by a lady who looked as elder sister of late london's princess Diana and took me to my place of stay. She is the driver of the taxi which was arranged for me. I just saw casually the speed of her driving, it was cool -210. Vienna deserves No.1 city on the world title. It is excellent and now and entire day tomorrow, we are going to complete sight seeing and write in detail later. Naavu Vienna bandhu raathri swalpa hotthu nodidha Kannada Chalana Chithra-namma favourite Dr.Raj's - Naa Ninna Mareyalaare matthu Bhaktha Kanakadasa.
See you with more details in next mail. Best Regards,
C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

This mail is for serious readers onlyVijendra made my Vienna Trip Memorable.

Vienna is a wonderful city. But, I feel it as another good looking European City like Hamburg or Berlin or Paris.I do not know how ranking system is done. But, Vienna no doubt deserves No.1 title.I also rate Bangalore and Mysore are ultimate cities on the world. Sigmund Freud - Father of Psychology is from Vienna & one great Bethoven is also from this city. MDCCVXLII belong to both Krakow and Vienna. There is a place called Rathaus where Intenrational Film Festival was going on and we enjoyed the big display screen and international audience.International Poetry is encouraged at Krakow & Vienna. As recommended by friend Vijendra, see if you can google Viktor Frankl and read about him and also Franz Kafka If you are interested in knowing about the history of the places at Vienna I visited, their political systems, their cruelties, their literature. Viktor Frnakl is a psychoanalyst of tremendous standing-A Jew, who under went unimaginable cruelty in a concentration camp in Poland(Auschwitz)He not only survived the horror, but retained his sanity, even balance to write a brilliant book: "Man's Search for Meaning of Life". Vijendra also describes that he often imagined Ravi Belagere writing the same book. Atma marukada mahapooravanne harisi yellarannu shokataptarannagisi aa shokasagaradalli taanu yekankgiyagi, nirummalavaagi doniyalli viharisbiduttiddaneno Aa pariya durantha, vedaneyannu anubhavisi, sambadhigalannella kaledugkondu, naaveega maataaduttiruvashtu sahajavaada dhatiyalli concentration campina bheekara aagu-hogugalanna chitrisiddanne Viktor I had travelled extensively and covered all historical places at Vienna.I have not read any books, but feeling like reading many books. I had a nice chat with Vijendra from Vienna and here is brief text, which I liked most and motivated me to share the same with you without his permission. "Please find time to read Franz Kafka, at least one of his books. The Trial to make a beginning. Read it when you are in Vienna/Poland itself. He writes chilling stuff. You will know the horrors of communism. If you read him (or Viktor Frankl) now, who knows, you may write a brilliant book yourself on your return. If not anything else, you may be able to appreciate the power and beauty of their writings much better while being there. You will be able to relate to them better.Reading the two authors - or any other European author - or, even listening to any of the masters of European classical music may be a good way of immunising yourself from the unpleasant things that keep upsetting your composure with!!Please also read about the life of Mozart even if on the net. Having spent a life time - which, luckily for him, was short - of tedium, he is abandoned at his funeral by his wife. She stays at home because it is cold out and raining.I feel I am an ignorant idiot when compared to Col PM Gopinath. He has travelled the length and breadth of India; he has read what I may not do in another ten life time.He has been through the rough and tumble having exposed himself to the harshest of circumstances, including extremities of climate and war.He has not once spoken about his adventures in the style of Belagere.Hope I am not talking too much about my own brother. I know that I am looking at him as an outsider. He has a greater understanding of journalism than I have two nights back, he called me up late in the night to share a thought Nani Palkhiwallah, the man whom we learned to respect early in our lives as a jurist of expert, a civil activist, a chartered accountant par eminence, an orator par excellence and what not,he apparently stood in support of Warren Anderson, the Union Carbide chief. He favoured, my brother told me quoting Vinod Mehtha, that compensation to the gas victims be paid in the US!!"
Lastly, when we were getting back from Vienna to Krakow, I saw two girls happily enjoying their times on the plane. They were capturing pictures of sky and city from the plane since we arrived around 10pm.These girls are again polish girls and do not know English. But, everlasting smile was there on the face of a girl. I remembered an advise from a Bangalore friend Preetha that I must smile when I pose for a photograph.I just practiced it. I did not speak to those two Polish girls though they were sitting previous to my seat.To my surprise, I found both of them working for Shell-Krakow and I saw them at my office. I got two new friends and of them, the girl with everlasting smile prompted me to say a message to all of you to stay Happy and Smiling always. Best Regards, C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Salt MIne & other places at Krakow

Hi All, Krakow's World-class Attraction, the Salt Mine of Wieliczka. One travelled Frenchman observed in the 18th century that Krakow's Wieliczka salt mine was no less magnificient than the Egyptian pyramids. Millions of visitors, the crowned heads and such celebrities as Goethe and Sarah Bemhardt among them, have appeared to share his enthusiasm when exploring the subterranean world of labyrinthine passages, giant caverns, underground lakes and chapels with sculptures in the crystalline salt and rich ornamentation carved in the salt rock. They have also marvelled at the ingenuity of the ancient mining equipment in the Wieliczka salt mine. And the unique acoustics of the place have made hearing music here an exceptional experience. The Wieliczka Salt Mine, nowadays practically on the southeast outskirts of Krakow, has been worked for 900 years. It used to be one of the world's biggest and most profitable industrial establishments when common salt was commercially a medieval equivalent of today's oil. Always a magnet, since the mid-18th century Krakow's Wieliczka salt mine has become increasingly a tourist attraction in the first place. Today visitors walk underground for about 2,000 m in the oldest part of the salt mine and see its subterranean museum, which takes three hours or so. Nine centuries of mining in Wieliczka produced a total of some 200 kilometers of passages as well as 2,040 caverns of varied size. The tourist route starts 64 m deep, includes twenty chambers, and ends 135 m below the earth surface, where the world's biggest museum of mining is located with the unique centuries-old equipment among its exhibits. Occasionally concerts and other events take place in the Wieliczka mine̢۪s biggest chambers. There is a sanatorium for those suffering from asthma and allergy situated 135 meters deep underground in the Wieliczka Salt Mine. UNESCO has entered the Wieliczka Salt Mine in its World Heritage Register. Chapel of Saint Kinga, the largest among underground chapels in the Wieliczka Salt mine, is actually a sizable subterranean church carved in rock salt and embellished with salty sculptures and bas-reliefs. Note: Temperature in the Wieliczka Salt Mine stays uniform 15 degrees Celsius, i.e. 59 Fahrenheit, round the year. Travel Salt Mine in Wieliczka is situated some ten kilometers from the center of Krakow. One may get there easily by car or taxi. Also, you can take a commuter train from the city's central Krakow Glowny rail station, a bus, or one of numerous minibuses that cruise Krakow's streets. Apart from SALT Mine, I had been to Krakow's famous Market Square, City Centre,Castles(VVIP's Samadhis of Royal families of Poland and President/PM of the country with greater achievements) and covered all parts of the city and difficult to name many. I should not forget to state that Pope John Paul II of Vatican city is native of Krakow and world famous Polish Poets are from Krakow.I can say Krakow is colorful, very very colorful.
Lastly,I am travelling to Vienna tomorrow evening flight and getting back to Krakow on Sunday night flight and spending whole of weekend at Vienna No.1 beautiful city on the world. I would write about it in next week. Best Regards, C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

The Mail I Promised-POLAND

Hi Friends, Firstly, I want to take you to my high school days.I had been to Plaza Theatre(now not existing)on MG Road to watch a movie called "Schindler's List".That was the first time, I tasted sweet pop-corns and in the row behind there was a man sitting with family. The man was watching movie very seriously, but I was watching movie and also seriousness of the man sitting behind. That serious man I saw that day was one of the Kannada Jnanapeeta Awardees- U R Anantha Murthy.Well, as I studied Kannada Medium till 7th Standard, I was not able to follow the English movie but could follow pictures. I think it was the movie I watched for the first time in which many men, women and children running "nude" from one cell to another and roughly remember they were prisoners of war several thousands in numbers. I never thought that I would see the same movie again and understand it well. It happened just yesterday. It was not just the movie- it was the real story- brutal murdering of JEWS by NAZiS during World War II between 1940 to 1945. The peak of cruelty and warning to the mankind forever. Welcome board to the city says- City of Deaths/City of Terror Camps and ultimate terror land NO.1 on the globe forever. This is the city I visited yesterday and still not able to overcome my sensitive feelings. AUSCHWITZ is the name of the city which is situated around 300kms from Krakow in Poland. This is the place where Adolf Hitler conducted his maasive gas chamber elimination of Jews,Polish,Russians and many others. He has killed one crores fifty lakhs lives and of which one crore twelve lakhs belonged to Jews.Honestly, Osama,Saddam and Veerappan etc... appeared to me just "ZERO" after seeing Auschwitz camps. I flied for more than 3 times so far above Kandahaar, Afganisthan and Pakistan and used to think about terror activities of the land and lives lost. But, I never imagined that I am going to see the lead place of terrorsforever which no other place can match. To keep your time focussed, I'll put balance info in simple points: Auschwitz is the place having 3 places-Museum,Bikanuo and Terror Camps.Museum firstly screens a movie for 15 mts for a batch of visitors languagewiseThen, batchwise earphones and microphone equipments are provided and a guide is sent for each batch.Free Shuttle to visit all 3 places and it requires minimum 4 to 5 hours to completely see all places.Museum is housing some proofs for how people were killed and documented.I am 100% sure that I cannot tell or describe in detail and I am incomplete and never make an attempt to write elaborate mail.
Sorry friends, please wait for my next mail for added information. I am feeling like taking a break to narrate my hangover. I'll certainly share some information possible in the next mail. Would it interest anybody ? Best Regards, C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Hi All,
As communicated in previous mail, I want to touch upon certain key information about Auschwitz now: All over the world, Auschwitz has become a symbol of terror, genocide, and the Holocaust. It was established by Germans in 1940, in the suburbs of Oswiecim, a Polish city that was annexed to the Third Reich by the Nazis. Its name was changed to Auschwitz, which also became the name of Konzentrationslager Auschwitz. The direct reason for the establishment of the camp was the fact that mass arrests of Poles were increasing beyond the capacity of existing "local" prisons. Initially, Auschwitz was to be one more concentration camp of the type that the Nazis had been setting up since the early 1930s. It functioned in this role throughout its existence, even when, beginning in 1942, it also became the largest of the death camps.
What I saw and learnt - some points for easy read as before:
Massive killing gas chambers at a time in 15 mts-2000 prisoners used to be killed.Camps extend for more than 1000 Acres of Land. All prisoners of war were classified into aged, young and children - aged and children were killed immediately upon arrival to the camp and youth were utilised for slavery jobs like toilet cleaning etc... and killed after 2 months or 3 months from the date of arrival to the camp. All victims were compelled to get undressed and undergo head shave and asked to take bath and rushed in bulk. Those were not bathrooms, but gas chambers eliminating immediately once the room doors were closed.Saw lots of proofs of death, stock of vessels, footwares, bulk bunch of hairs stored, suitcases, physically handicappped equipments, children play articles etc... of all those who have died are preserved. I would prefer to end this unpleasant expression about this place. But, I am sure that this place gives the real insight to the hardcore realities of World War and aftermath of world wars. Forever, no other place can beat the record of Auschwitz,is my firm opinion. In my next mail, I would describe a bit about Poland Culture, other historical places and great SALT MINE- amazing wonder of the universe. Coming weekend 3 days, I spending exclusively at Vienna and with this I am entering into another European Country Austria. Best Regards,
C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Opening thrill at Krakow,Poland

Hi Friends, I really do not know this..I am surprised with a Poland Lady colleague.I met some two months back a Poland Lady colleague at Hamburg during my last visit to Europe. She had just invited me to Krakow, Poland when we met last time.It happened a reality this week.I arrived on last Tuesday here. I happened to meet this Poland Lady upon my arrival. She just gave a handshake and spoke 2 mts and wished me Good Day.That's it.She did not speak to me on Wednesday & Thursday at all. I just thought, what is this ? She told so many things last time and she is not even speaking to me when I arrived here and I did not bother much.To my surprise, it was just yesterday afternoon,I had been to a meeting yesterday morning and came to my seat by lunch time. I had a great surprise. She had placed here mobile contact number on my desk. Also, informed through her two colleagues that she is waiting for a special lunch for me.I am so excited. Because, I am a pure vegetarian. But,I had never discussed with her before about my food preference. But,she had prepared pure-veg food by referring to some Indian Recipe and brought it for me to eat.I had been to some Indian Restaurants at Poland. But, none of them were good. But, Poland Lady's food was amazing. I just liked it a lot.She also wanted me to say few Indian Recipe downloads and she is going to prepare it for me for my lunch daily. I just told her don't take strains. But, she never allowed me to stop. I had to give interenet link for some Indian recipes. After lunch, she asked me my engagement for today. I told I am free and planning for some sight seeing. She just went to her desk and after sometime, she informed me that she is arriving at my hotel at 11 in the morning and take me out for sight seeing. I am thrilled and she is going to be here in next 2 hrs and taking out for sight seeing for entire day. When I casually told-it seems you were busy for last two days, she said that she thought I was busy and did not disturb.
God only knows and making me to firm up my feeling world is small. I am laughing at myself remembering one of the old Annavra's movie song-Poland Lady mojanu maadalu kan kan bida bedi................Modern Lady Mojanu maadalu kan kan bida bedi...............Well, I just want to state that Poland is just famous for Miss World/ Miss Universe contestants and event management shows. Some good looking fair girls at India behaves indifferently or feel great because they are good looking/beautiful. But, trust me friends, beauty is just common/plenty on this part of world. Right from very low profiled jobs to high ended jobs accross various service segments, you will find beauty and it is just universal and no discrimination from this beautiful world towards non-beautiful segments.
So, good - bad - ugly is all same and common is my another understanding of life. Bye, have a great day ahead. C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Reply to Suresh from Germany

Hi Suresh, Nice to see your mail asking me to write mail about my experiences overseas. I am happy that my mail interests someone's reading. Well, my official responsibilities have mounted up and balancing act with my free time is becoming quite difficult for sometime, so I stopped writing further mails on my Europe experiences. I have lots of stuff to write and I may be able write a book in Kannada comprising of all my experiences. But, I'll not write for the fact that very few reads it or many would not be interested to read anything now a days.
Well, after completion of Hamburg,Frankfurt,Berlin,Paris,Bremin, Hannover,Kologne and some more European countries I am back to Chennai now for a fortnight. I am all set to travel to Vienna, Poland and Hamburg around May end and will be travelling beyond 60 days in period 2 travel. I may likely travel to England,Netherlands and some more places in the near future. But, to sum up- I am getting back to my old statement which is being reinstated now - WORLD IS VERY SMALL & THE GREATEST TRUTHS ARE ALWAYS SIMPLEST IN LIFE. Well, when I find leisurely time and get the mood to write, I would certainly write. I am very humble with "Pragathi" and looking forward to see greater mileage achieved by "Pragathi" with the active involvement of people like you. I am hoping that our "KGS" is reading my mails expressing concerns over "Pragathi" and take forward its route map and clear way forward by involving new talents within "Pragathi" I am not clear whether all "Pragathi" members are really interested to get involved and take objectives of "Pragathi" forward. Even after 8 years of commencement, we are more like sterotypic in functions/activities. I hardly find people writing e-mails within our group. A qualitative transformation is a must within "Pragathi", ofcourse, I am sure that with induction of very active new office bearers under the leadership of KGS everything is possible. But,it should happen faster. Let us see how many would respond to this mail. Probably none! Best Regards, C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Kannada Movies @ Germany

Dear All, There is a place called Mundsburg at Hamburg. I had been to watch a movie at a multiplex there. It is like a PVR.What I liked is - before commencement of the movie, two anchors appeared before the screen and conducted quiz. Some 15 questions about various old English movies were asked and instantly some gifts were given. Well, after quiz was over some 50 pop corn packets and 50 big chocolates were thrown at audience randomly and lucky people could get among audience of around 500 in the cinema hall. I must be lucky and I got a big chocolate. Well, some how I felt to see some good movies of Dr.Raj at Hamburg. Last two nights I watched fully three movies - 1. Kasturi Nivasa, 2.Bangarada Manushya & 3.Saakshaathkaara and little of Namma Samsaara & Mantralaya Mahathme.
As I mentioned in my previous mail about look alike person like my brother Mahesh whom I saw at Eiffel Tower,I am sending two attachments having his photos. What do you feel ? Best Regards, C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Paris-on the top of the Eiffel Towers

Dear All, I wrote a big mail to all of you covering many aspects of Paris and it was unfortunately discarded with a press of wrong button before sending to you all. Well, I am now trying to write back some contents and re-writing and fixing a limited time and faster submission of information to you. I really do not have the same spirit when I wrote first time. The local time now is 1.15(Indian Time 4.45) and planning to conclude this mail as soon as possible.Firstly, I could not watch the movie PARIS PRANAYA by my favourite Director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar when it was released. But, it is evident and very appropriate title has been chosen by him. Yes, Paris is full of Pranaya, Just LOVE, AFFECTION AND SEX.Many of you may be aware that in most parts of European countries, red light areas are legally functional. As I told earlier, public romance is common at Berlin and Hamburg and other parts of Europe. But, if you want me to share about PARIS.I just don't have any words. It has taken an extra mileage in all aspects. Well, there is everything GOOD - BAD - UGLY and those are the hardcore realities of mankind as I fully believe it firmly for quite long time.Ok, from Hamburg to Paris is just 14 hrs drive exactly by bus. The entire to and fro was 28 hrs and all the distance was driven by cute girl of 25 yrs. I am just surprised. We left Paris on 02nd April at 6.00PM and reached Paris at 8.00AM on 3rd Arpil and from 8.00AM to midnight 11.30 we could see Paris and started back at 11.30 reach back Hamburg on 04th April at 1.30PM. Journey was splendid and I never imagined that I travelled for 28hrs and 13hrs sight seeing without any discomfort. Can we imagine the same in India ?
At Paris, firstly we visited famous Church and completed city round trip between 8.00am to 11.00am. At 11.30 we were just in the long "Q" for Eiffel Tower. World's Second largest Tower. It was just a thrilling experience and no words. I could only say that after reaching second level by trolley, we had to go to final level by a transparent lift. I could see lift operator and many inmates within the lifts just closed their eyes. Somehow, I was courageous this time. I had a sense of some achievement when I reached top of Eiffel Tower. I had a surprise too . I met a person by name Mr.Rajesh from Mumbai who just resembled my immediate younger brother Mahesh. This kind of look alike with larger percentage is second experience for me. The first being a replica of myself is by a person by name Praveen who works for insurance Dept at Columbia Asia Hospital near Hebbal Flyover. I went and met him and got surprised to see like Annavra Film Shankar Guru. My friends wanted me to sing Kannada Songs on the top of Eiffel Tower and I could sing whole heartedly 3 songs and I just loved and cherished a lot about Kannada.
I had seen many places of interests at Paris which significantly included many historical places of french revolution, buildings and museum housing world famous Leonorda Da Vinci's painting " MONALISA". I think I have not left anything to see at Paris. I travelled extensively from morning to mid night. Eiffel Tower without light during the day and with colourful lightings in the night very closely. I travelled by Boad even at Paris for 2 hrs to see royal splendours of world. I could also find good number of Indian Restaurants at Paris and ate 100% Veg Chennai Chettinadu Meals. City is cross cultured with my Africans, Indians, West Indies and people from many parts of world who are engaged in selling sovenirs and general tourist stuffs.I travelled extensively by public transport - both by bus and train to have a feel of Paris. Without any exaggeration, if a city in India can be transformed like a Paris, it is 100% our Mysore. When it comes to food, I ate in all prestigeous big branded restaurants of world at entire Europe and France. But, trust me none can match the taste of our Bangalore Hotels.I have very closely observed and analysed culture of Europe and France, firmly announce that none can out beat the great culture of INDIA. We are great-but we need to transform and change the mindsets to broader arena on a global scale.
I have developed some reading habits off late.Whenever possible, I am trying to read some good books. This was my interests too but could not do for many years. Well, this time i completed reading Kingshuk Nag's book on "The Double Life of Ramalinga Raju" I have so many info, but stop at this. Anything specific to anybody's interest, I am open to share more freely. "From Paris With Love" is the movie I planned to watch at Hamburg Theater tonite and I could watch an alternate English movie as the former movie was not scheduled for today's screenings. I could see different theatre culture at Cinema Halls. They call Theatres as either Cinema or Opera. There are also many drama halls very luxurious halls where regular dramas are played those halls are called as Theatres. Being an active Board Member of Makers of Mysore of Vijendra, I want to see great things happenning to this entity and to many projects of Vijendra. Something, off late is happening very progressively at his end and wish him great success for all his endeavours. Vijendra is my best writer and Milan Kundera of Paris is Vijendra's best writer. I initially planned to meet Milan Kundera and it did not happen. Thanks for your time and best regards to you all. C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Some of my info about Europe

Dear Friends,
I am not sure whether my mail below would interests you or not,but I have a feeling to convey whatever I felt and experiencing presently during my stay at Europe. Have a look at your leisure. I landed on Germany on 21st March and I am fine here.My work is complex and challenging. But, I may take more time to stabilise. Well,Germany is just excellent. It is a highly advanced country and we cannot really imagine its growth and developement. To my surprise, 99% of people does not know English. So, English itself is not a bench mark for growth and developments. We get indian restaurants as well but very limited places at more distance. Some findings & snapshots : No Two Wheelers/Autos in entire Germany- only cars and premium cars.Excellent local trains/buses/taxi & ferries(boats) wherever possible and cycles are there on a separate path for them. They use it for cycling not for carrying items like streetside hawkers. No beggars, No supply of flower/fruits or Vegatables on the Street. All buildings are mostly uniform and colour is either red or brown or grey or white. No other colours permitted.Highly disciplined people and very hardworking culture. They separte office and home. When they are at home 100% family and when they are at Office- 100% work is their culture and they do not work late working hours and no working on holidays/weekends.> They do not give much importance to sentiments, but helpful in nature. No barriers of boy or girl. Many ladies are drivers for Bus/Train/Taxi etc...equally to men. They are equal even to Cigarrates and drinks. Public Romance-hugging and kisses is common on the streets.Very strange for Indians- no tap or no bin and no water in toilets for wash. Only tissue papers and bins are outside toilets which I did not like. Even in public toilets at Airport same culture-people carry tissue papers to the hand wash area. very odd. Great music lovers are there. They enjoy life as if there is no tomorrow. Good thing is that they like people from Bangalore than from other places from India. Shopping is very costly, only eatable and daily necessities are very cheap. Drinks -------very very cheap. Water is costlier than some Drinks. On 27th March 2010,I have covered most parts of Hamburg and on 28th March 2010 Berlin.Well, there are some Indian Restaurants at different parts of Hamburg namely Gobinda,Manju,Maharaja,Jaipur Restaurant etc...some Indian foods are available. But, these restaurant owners are not Indians, but Afghanistanis in many cases.Even, All Indian Restaurants offer limited Indian Menu but more items are non-Indian menu. Throughout city, we find small red post box kind of boxes placed for every 10 feet distance and those boxes are garbage boxes and city is very clean. I had seen 180 year old City Townhall at Rathaus, had been to World No.1 Coffee Shop-Starbucks,World No.2 Electronic Shop-Saturn and visited many places by City Tour and also had a nice trip to harbour and 1hr big ship round. Ship was a mini-Titanic. Prior to that in the morning, I had been to Albanalster Boat Ride for more than 2hrs and seen world's best architecture. I also happened to see more than 150 consulate offices and one exclusive street of houses where more than Top 100 Billionairs of Germany stays.
"Discover the diamond in you" is the book by Arindam Chaudhury which I read during my journey back from Berlin to Hamburg for 2 hours. I was also listening to MP3 Kannada & Hindi songs simultaneously.I just want to share one truth with you all that through out my Europe trip, I am remembering a person very much. I am feeling like sharing all my tour experiences with that person. I have lots of informations to download to that person is my gut feeling. But, the person whom I am referring to and remembering is my Subbu Uncle(C L Subramanya) who is no more and very difficult to believe that he is no more. I am also remembering Ramesh Uncle,a mild mannered great humanbeing(my wife's uncle passed away recently). The statement that value of person we will know only after death is 100% perfect. Food is a not a joke here. The moment I enter any restaurant/office canteen, the smell of beef is making me not to eat comfortably. The kitchens are common for Veg/Non-Veg/Pork/Beef. I am feeling guilt to eat my food even though it is Veg.I am surprised that some of the Indian Restaurants displaying Ganesha Photos/Shiva-Parvathi & Saraswathi photos etc... are also preparing beef over here.Well, it is not so easy to speak- but how we experience matters.Nobody washes with water after going to toilets. Whenever I see some cooks at the restaurants visiting toilets and getting back to food preparations, I develop a bitter feeling. All toilets so nicely maintained cleanly smells heavily with tissue paper stuffs. Ok, advancement is something different from comfort levels. So, wealth is not the real life, but health matters. I wish to state that I had seen almost all important places like consulates of many countries, Berlin Parliament, famous Berlin Wall,Museum Area,Central Station,Check Point and all historical places.I have fair understanding of Hamburg and Berlin completely by now. I could travel in public transport, private transport extensively covering bus, trains, ferries, boats & ships etc....I could also cover many cities and towns in between Berlin & Hamburg. Next weekend coinciding with Easter holidays for 4 days is going to be great outing for me, I am going to Amsterdam and Paris. Probably, other next weekend to Bremin. Now, let me appraise a bit about Berlin Trip. We had booked 8.10 am train yesterday morning and return ticket with a special group ticket booking done 3 days in advance for 40 Euros for each person for our team of 6. So, one side ticketing was worked out to 20Euros per person. Based on my advise, we decided to be in the station around 30 mts early. We started at 6.30 and reached station by 7. I just saw a clock on the way which was displaying 7.45 instead of 6.45 and thought it was a wrong timing in the clock which could not be working. So, we did not bother and visited some Burger King shop to eat some breakfast and coffee from Mc Donalds. Then we walked onto the platform around 8 to catch 8.10 train. But, all clocks were showing 9 instead of 8. So, confusion cropped up and when enquired, we could come to know that there was day light saving done with effect from yesterday. Germany Timing was re-set by 1 hr early and the train for which we had booked tickets had already gone. It was a simple mistake and there was no refund for tickets and we had to buy new ticket for the next train starting at 11 and the cost per person was Euro 70. Almost, each of us had to spend additional 100 Euros to start our journey to Berlin and we just did it.
BERLIN,being capital of Germany is very big and a nice architecture. Berlin central railway station is bigger than Bangalore International Airport by size and also by quality. We had a nice time and covered all tourist places. I made a close observation and compared between Hamburg & Berlin. There was no big difference. I am surprised that small towns in between this two big cities are also well organised. System,Discipline,Timeliness and Grandness of all cities are remarkable. I want to happily announce that Indian people are getting recognised at Germany. Though, they exhibit some reservations about tourists from Asia, they are considering India to be best from Asia. For me,I feel there is no greatness in a country that is really great no doubt. But, INDIA -? When I was chatting with a casual chat with Vijendra he did mention that India was a wealthy nation. I realised that "YES", it should have been definitely and for the current status of "INDIA" I feel painful too. Well, when I completed reading the book -"Discover Diamond in you" by Arindam Chaudhuri, in about 1 hour on the way back to Hamburg. I honestly felt that person like Vijendra can easily write on par and ofcourse far superior like Arindam Chaudhuri. Let me make one point clear to all of you that I am not unrealistic patriotic person of India and also not the person who is feeling jealous about advanced countries. But, I honestly feel that because of our mindsets, corrupt systems in place, political mis-management is really ruining India like anything. Hats off to Europeans, their culture is excellent. They do not compare the wealth of each other. There is no barrier of rich and poor. Every one enjoys the life. There is no ego or super-ego. We just find them enjoying life the way they like, we watch them working very hard and behave professionally. We see in each face of every individual some smile on the face or happiness.I happened to wear my Suits at India two to three times.I happened to either travel by Auto or someone's car as it would look odd to travel on my bike or scooter with a suit. But, we can find people wearing suits walk on the streets, cycling and travelling by local bus or train. Simplicity is what they practice at culture and comfort levels is what they follow as their civilization.
I sincerely felt that mindset of Indians must change towards positive energy.Projects like Cleanhand/Hygiene of Vijendra should come into existence without any delays. There should be some value statement and focus with organisations like " Pragathi" If you want to know more about Hamburg or Berlin - just a google search is enough. But, my point of sharing is straight from heart expression of my experiences unbiased.Until, May 30th, I will be travelling various parts of Europe specifically France, Belgium, Austria etc....I'll try to integrate my experience with truth, while writing few info about the places, which I visit. But, if you want to know specifically about any place, I would be happy to share personally more. I wish to suggest all of you to read Arindam Chaudhuri's book - Discover the Diamond in you.( Vijendra, a must for you from various angles and most importantly with a great feeling that you are capable of writing on par with this book and contribute your services for the upliftment of our country India, begining with a pilot activity at my birth place MYSORE).Makers of Mysore, should do something great for our Country.
Any comments/feedbacks/criticisms - welcome. Best Regards, C N Rameshrameshcn16@gmail.com

Ramakrishnan Prakash-Smiling Man

Dear Friends,
I met this friend casually when I joined I PUC at Seshadripuram College. We studied together till final B.Com., just 2+3= 5 years. Ofcourse, we learnt typing in the same institute which brought us much closer in the early friendhship days. But, the understanding and relationship with this friend is simply great for this lifetime. He is my good friend RAMAKRISHNAN PRAKASH or R PRAKASH.
Prakash is the man who supported my studies during II PUC. I was very weak in Accounts and almost on the verge of failing in this subject due to certain professional jealousies of lectureres who could teach only in Tuition Classes and not at College. As a principle, I had never attended Tuitions throughout my lifetime. Well,Prakash has been very diplomatic, professional and a great friend. He supported me with combined studies for my all academic requirements. His professionalism and high level maturity is just admiring and motivational to persons like me. He always has smile on his face and my family members identifies him only with the his charecteristic-NAGUMUKHADA PRAKASH. I could copy some of his positives and could earn a name Happy Man for myself from some friends. Helpfulness is the other name for Prakash. He is just like that to all. He is the man - who came to teach me swimming, he is the man who came to train me on driving scooter. He is the man who attended to many of my requirements. He is the man who helps very sincerely to get some jobs for job seekers. He could help my brother Harish and a relative Mamatha and few others. He is the man who showed me the areas of investments- commencing from Peerless. When I asked him to invest for some equitites or some MLM businesses- he just invested without second thought. When he lost on such investments- he never spoke a single word about his investments. Till today, he never said NO to any of my proposals- but on account of my mistakes for wrong references, I have atleast realised that I should not disturb my good friend.Prakash had worked for Usha International, BPL, Pepsi, Agere Systems & presently with Foodworld Super Markets. He could accomodate me to work with him at BPL- but I did not join for certain salary reasons. He could try for me at Pepsi too, I was not too keen due to hectic work pressures. When I think of any Tamil movie or celebrity- I just remember Prakash. We had been to couple of movies of all languages- but each of the visits are just memorable differently. As Kamal Hassan & Rajnikant are not APOORVA SAHODARGAL- Ramesh & Prakash are not too. The seed of Kaadal which was deep rooted within me has given me altogether a different personality.Hats Off RAMAKRISHNAN PRAKASH.

New Year Resolution

Hi Friends,

On this new year day, I suddenly decided to opt for a simple resolution. It is giving a good comfort. So sharing the same with you. I have just implemented, what i resolved to practice. Well, I honestly feel having anything more than necessary is a discomfort. We need to have only adequate levels, most ideally in many cases, one/single article sounds good. Few samples :

1. I had too many e-mail IDs and simply deleted all unused IDs and henceforth concentre my mails only from the mail ID from which I am writing.now.
2. I had too many cell connections, i am now restricting just one for personal and another one for official.9176673393 & 9283747807.But,while in B'lore(during weekends) 98442 95260 continues.
3. Having more than one pair of shoes or slippers are not necessary. I restrict to 2 pairs of shoes of office requirements and one pair of slippers.
4. I had five wrist watches received as marriage present, gifts, compliments and so on. I have decided to use only one and rest all given away.
5. I could clear my wardrobe and keep only essential formals and casuals not many in numbers.
6. I have cut all my credit cards and retained only one for emergencies.
7. I could reduce size of my wallet and cleared all unwanted papers in it. It will have bare minimum things necessary.
8. I am thinking of all those items which I regularly use and retaining to only one and anything more than one I have decided to share or give it off.

I am anticipating better housing keeping of within myself and beyond myself. The greatest truths are always simplest and I have enhanced my simplicity to a further new high. I would add some more value addition by disposing of unwanted stuff. This will include not only articles, but all unwanted thoughts, unwanted contacts, unwanted interests etc... I would narrow down my approach of my self-appraisal for 2011 and hopefully lessening my baggage would keep me cool and contemplate for realising my true potentials with my hardcore specialised areas of interests and talents.

Best Regards,

Why should one write a mail ?

Hi Friends,I have a question - Why should one write a mail ? Perhaps, to touch base thesubject itself is quite dry and many may not find it interesting to do so. Well,we are all occupied in our own ways. Sometimes, when we are too busy, we do notfind time to read or write to the mails which we receive. We also know prettywell, only few select individuals write mails and immediately upon seeing themail from a frequent person or e-mail ID, we tend to just ignore or delete themessages. How far - this stand acceptable ? I want to sum upquickly-ondoorinalli oblu ajji idlu, yaavaaglu duddu bekadaaga obbana hathrabandhu keltha idlu. Aadre, aa manushya ondhu dina, dinaa duddu kelo ajji yekeentertain maadbeku antha maneli illa antha helisbitta. Aadre, aa ajji avatthuthanna palina aasthi-pasthi avana hesarige maadoke antha bandidlu. ...story isknown to you all. So, dear friends, please make sometime to read in detail andunderstand all the mails which you mayreceive. I do agree that many of them could be junks, but the good ones shouldnot be missed on account of our ignorance.I am writing mails and sending out to this group, based on several individualsexpressing their interests to read my mail. I thank all those great individuals, who could make me motivated and with which I can stabilising to write better, though not achieved proficiencies.Well, the recent compliment I received is from our Pragathi Member friendGURURAJA RAO KADAPANATHAM who is presently based at Muscat. I am not even like apeanut infront of his rich and great personality. But, those encouraging wordsand a pat on back from a right person makes me further motivated to do things inright way and also I have not forgotten the principle for Bhagavadgeetha-Karmanye Vaardhikaarasthe Maa Phaleshu Thadaachana. I am not expecting anyreward or recognition very frankly. What I am expecting is the real humanrelationship movement within Pragathi & Young Attractions to make a small effortin making atleast some take forward the same initiatives and get in touch.Lastly, I once again request recipients of all these mails to beproactive/participative. No doubt, with exchange of communication we grow a lotwith knowledge and as well as our communication skills.

An Evening with PB Srinivos

Hi Friends,

When I came to Chennai about 1.4 years back, I wrote that I could meet Sri.P B Srinivos and had a brief talk. He had blessed with kind words- “Baalu Belagali, Baalu Bangaaravagali “ It was a chance meeting him in a traffic signal. My mind worked towards meeting him for couple of hours someday and it has happened just last evening. Thanks to Sri.RNK Prasad, with his reference, I could contact Sri.PBS. When I said to PBS that RNK Prasad referred me –reply was instant from PBS stating RNK Prasad’s father R Nagendra Rao is the man who introduced him to film industry.

I contacted him at the venue New Woodlands Hotel,Dr.Radhakrishnan Salai,Mylapore at the designated time to have received his appreciation- prompt in time. He got confirmed that I am C N Ramesh belongs to Bangalore. He continued to talk stating that you are a person from Karnataka and it is a known fact that people of Karnataka are famous for showering love and affection from the heart. I was just excited to hear. When I entered the restaurant, I saw PBS with Mysore Peta, silk shawl and smart get up chewing slowly and eating almost head bent down and eyes closed and enjoying the taste. He offered me to eat and ordered coffee. I casually asked him, why he wears Mysore Peta, any special liking, and reply was instant I love Karnataka and anything related to Karnataka and so, keeping the ethnicity of Karnataka on his head. He is very fond of Karnataka and Kannada for emotional bondage he could establish in his film career.

Suddenly, he asked me- “neevu haaduttheera ?” I replied “ nanna manassina kushige maathra haadutthene” there came the bullet answer from him: “ade nijavaada sangeetha” he continued to say that music without melody is very unpleasant and song without feeling is purposeless.

I casually opened a topic that : “ mounave abharana, mugulnage shashikirana” haadina taraha you are silent and smiling, he quoted best of best answer which each one of us have to follow : The importance of silence and eloquence is a scholarly attitude, which he is practicing. We must know where to speak, what to speak and where to maintain silence. I felt too happy for that info for a simple reason that I have been following the same rule of communication in my life for last couple of years. It could further motivate me with a pat on my back – that I am on right track.

I gave him my business card and a copy of my biography-“A Face in the crowd”. Thanks to Veena, author and Vijendra, guided partly . PBS read 90% of biography with interest for about 2 hrs out of our total 3 hrs stay together and openly appreciated the language used in the book is very good and expressed his happiness stating book has a nice get up and context formation skills are too good.

He often admired Dr.Rajkumar and Raj’s statement –“Nimma dhwani nanna gantallige sikkiddhu nanna sowbhagya”. Dr.Raj himself being a great singer said that high level talks. He is a great soul. He quoted that once after hearing “Aaradhisuve Madanaari” song from Babruvaahana, PBS went and hugged Raj to state what a voice culture and it is not possible for an ordinary person to sing like that without the knowledge of “sangeetha”. Raj had told him that PBS was his guru to practice in such qualitative ways. PBS is having high levels of respect for Raj and considers that people of Karnataka never forget him for singing those lovely songs in Kannada for Raj. I silently opened a PBS song book and showed to him and he felt happy with real wide smile.

I had heard that PBS knows several languages and asked him do you know 13 languages, he promptly said, “NO”, I know 8 languages and I asked what are those languages and came to know that following are the languages in which PBS is perfect Kannada,Telugu,Tamil,Malayalam,Hindi,English,Urdu & Sanskrit. I saw PBS talking to different people in Kannada,Telugu,Tamil,Malayalam,Hindi & English sitting next to me. I asked how come your are so perfect. He said that he is PBS stands for PERFECT BELIEF SINGER.

I noticed that PBS chanting” Rama, Rama” in between and I asked about his divine spirits. What he described is a lesson for my life time and I won’t be able to recall all. But, God- rule of birth and death-made me think deeply. Why Omni potent is keeping death of any system. He is a creator and can go on creation, but why end ? No one knows. He expressed, how could he sing so many songs and wrote so many poetry and saw in front of his eyes how his poetry were burnt. He also quoted an example of how strong he was with his singing. He had sung- : “Ravi Varmana Kunchadha Kale Bale Saakaravo” song on the same day, when his mother was expired and due to producers request he had to sing the song same day to save money to the producer. I asked frankly, how they got that mind to ask you to sing that day, he said that fact should not be looked together. Consider only I could deliver my best as commitment. He remembered his parents and how he followed their instructions for Professional life & Personal life. As per their instructions, he started meeting people or fans or cinema industry people outside of house and that’s how he is more than 60 year old customer to New Woodlands Hotel where he meets people even today.

What surprised me a lot is that he was expressing happiness over my meeting him quite often. When I sought his blessing just bowing to his feet, he said he will only pray GOD to keep us well. Further elaborated that I am not a big man I pray GOD for your good and also for my good. He is not the supreme to bless me. I had never seen or heard this kind of real blessing. I asked any message for me or society, he said that he is still a learner in life and not competent to give any message.

Perfect Gentleman he is, he never complained anybody, never made and hue and cry of the system. He only regretted entry of politics in arts. That should not be the case. He also opined that a person is required to sleep 8 hrs per day and be creative for balance 16 hrs which he is following. He said that he is interested in interenet and e-mail, but his son is not obliging with connection, as it affects his eyes and strains him too much.

I am honored and feel special to get such a lovely opportunity to meet him and copycat some of his value system in my life.

Last question in my mind : PBS is having such a great love for Kannada and Kannadigas and whether we are reciprocating to him now ? Living Legend PBS is Great. Long Live PBS. Anybody interested to meet PBS or do something for soul satisfaction, can do it now and I am available if you want me to introduce him.

MY GRAND-PARENTS- OTHER NAMES FOR SIMPLICITY

" The greatness of a man is his simplicity "

In my views, in short, the above made statement is applicable and appropriate to:

A person, alone, with starving, without a single paisa, in bare foot, in worned & torned cloths walked about 60 kms (dawn to dusk) to Bangalore and made a property of rupees one crore (as of today) in a sincere way and left for us without expecting any returns by leading a very very simple life.

He is, I can proudly say that it is my grandfather Chikkaballapura Ramachandrappa Lakshminarayana Rao accompanied by Ramadasashastri Savithramma.

- The great personalities and another name for simplicity.

WHAT PEOPLE SAYS ABOUT RAMESH C N

Suresh B C- Project Manager HP

“During my fairly long association with Mr. Ramesh, I found him to be a person dedicated to his job, well behaved, sincere and co-operative with his colleagues. His work was always neat and updated setting a good role model for others. His earnest desire to learn and improve his performance is to be commended. His clean habits and excellent conduct are ideal for a person striving to come up in life.”

“Guy with high energy levels, always motivated, willing to learn new things. Nice guy to be with.”

“Ramesh is simple, friendly and straight forward. His approach towards the different attitudes people are very impressive. His Commitment towards the work is extraordinary. His talent has to be utilized fully.”

Ramesh is a poet I don't mind not reading! I have read his heart through the man himself, not through his poems. He looks like a poet. I haven't known him for long but definitely well enough that I qualify to write this. I am in certain awe of this man as a human being. He is forever given to the simple pleasures of life, ever willing to help people as if it was a sin not to do it, always looking for what is not evident in what is around, feeling free to experience the pain that a sensitive person does habitually but soon overcoming it. Through all this, he is in obsessive love with life. He is an incurable romantic at heart and with his pen, I bet! By the by, is he related to KS Narasimhaswamy, the Mysore Jasmine poet? Find out for yourself. Read him...
